Gold Seams

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of mending broken ceramics with gold, so the break becomes part of the beauty.

Gold Seams reads every Queens of the Stone Age album, from 1998 to ‘Perfecth’, as a single vessel broken into nine pieces. Each piece is a record, each fragment a song. The gold runs where an image returns across the years: eyes, water, blood, a halo, a wolf. These are the seams. There are fifteen.

Choose a seam, break the vessel, and watch the gold find its way through the songs.
